Vandalism in the Neighborhood

It appears that several street lights throughout Remington Park and all of the pathway lights in the sports area were vandalized sometime between Sat 5/7 and Sun morning on 5/8.

The Colleyville PD was contacted today.  Officer Terrell advised me they can only take a report from us on damage to RP property.  Since the street lights are owned and maintained by the City, damage will be reported by Public Works Dept.

So far, here's the damage:

Street Lights
Belmont/Mustang
Rem Pkwy/Equestrian
Rem Pkwy/Chestnut
Rem Pkwy/Vintage

Path Lights
All in pool/sports area (10 in total)
Dan estimates repairs to the pathway lights will range from $100 - $300 per light depending on how much damage was done to interior of lamp.

Please let Dan, Bryant (contact info bottom of page) or any board member know if you notice or hear of any additional damage to the area.  We are asking all RP residents for knowledge or observations that could assist in identifying person(s) responsible.

Directory and Coventants Updated

FLASH: Next update will be Electronic. More info to come. By now, you should have received a brown envelope containing updates to the neighborhood directory and a new copy of the consolidated Covenants. At the 2009 Annual Homeowner's Meeting, the membership voted unanimously to approve the consolidated "Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions for Remington Park". The new Covenants (located here) consolidate the previous 7 sets of Covenants and board votes to one document. This new document also adds a "Working Capitol" provision that collects a one time, at closing, lump sum amount equal to the annual dues. This amount is in additon to the annual dues. If you are planning to sell, please advise your Agent. A printed copy will be suppplied with the next annual Home Owners Book update.

    No Soliciting

Signs have been installed. As many of you are aware, the amount of vendor foot traffic has increased substantially in Remington Park over the past. While some of these individuals are certainly legitimate businesses trying to market their services, there is no easy way to distinguish well intended entrepreneurs from strangers who may be dishonest or are seeking to damage or harm homeowners and their property. As a result, we have decided to establish a No Soliciting Policy for Remington Park with the new signs installed at the entrances on L.D. Lockett and McDonwell School Road. Our intent is not to discourage fund raisers for local schools, associated clubs of our children, or other not for profit groups.

Therefore, please refer to the following non-solicitation guidelines we intend to enforce:

    • Unfortunately, the "No Soliciting" signs only prohibit door-to-door, person-to-person contact. It does not stop those pesky little door flyers and the foot traffic associated with them.
    • For-profit interests such as advertising or selling goods or services associated with a personal or private venture are prohibited. Violators found soliciting in Remington Park should be reported directly to the Colleyville Police Department by any homeowner.Non Emergency Number: 817.503.1200
    • Not-for-profit charity events such as cookie sales, candy sales, etc., for community service organizations (Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, etc.), church groups, public or private school groups and fraternal organizations may be permitted when such are accomplished discretely, without distraction or harassment.
